Welcome To Government College Skardu

Government College Skardu is one of the most prominent educational institution in Gilgit-Baltistan . The college has sufficient infrastructure and other facilities like laboratories, Computer lab, Library, internet facility, hostel facility for boarding of students belonging to far flung areas and transport facility. The building and other facilities will be further enhanced from current academic session. The college has successfully been catering for the education needs of the people of area for more than five decades. COLLEGE FACILITIES

Library

The college library has a collection of about 10,000 books on various fields of knowledge. The library has also a reading room where news paper and journals are available for reading. A resource center for faculty members and researchers has also been established in the library where internet facility is available.

Science Lab

The college has laboratory facilities up to degree level in the subjects of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Geography and Computer science. Laboratories of the college have sufficient equipments and chemicals.

Transport

The college provides limited transport facility to the students on the basis of no-profit, no-loss. However, the college is not responsible for failure in providing transport facility under circumstances beyond its control. The students shall be picked from and dropped at the points fixed.

First Aid

There is a First Aid Post in the college, which is equipped adequately with medical facilities in case of minor ailments and injuries. A trained dispenser is available for this purpose on behalf of Gilgit Baltistan Health Department. The fee prescribed by GB Health Department shall be charged from students for medical checkup at the First Aid Post.

Games and Sports

The college has spacious playgrounds for Football, Cricket, and Volley Ball. A Basketball court is also available in the college. Training facilities for athletics and indoor games like Table Tennis are also available.
