The Department of Islamic Studies is a symbol of ideology of Pakistan. Pakistan is the only Muslim state which demanded and obtained its right to exist primarily as Muslim Nation. Soon after the partition, the creator of Pakistan began to take steps towards the fulfillment of the objectives of this new Islamic state. The Leader felt the dire need of introducing to the younger generation, the Islamic Ideology and the Muslim cultural heritage, and with that objectin view they planned to introduce the subject of Islamic Studies in Schools,Colleges& Universities of the country. The Department of Islamic Studies has endeavored to provide distinguished education according to a developed and approved educational and research system that contributes to the renaissance of society. The Department includes qualified faculty members having extended research and teaching experience. Since its establishment, the Department strives to be a center of excellence in its specialized fields. It focuses on programs that meet the evolving needs of society. The Department offers undergraduate, graduate programs in the Quranic studies, Translation studies, Hadith, jurisprudence & Sharia, and World Religions & interfaith harmony.
